This bike has a remarkable story. In 1962/63 Dave Young – proprietor of Bol d’Or Motorcycles – bought a Triumph Sports Cub, brand new – he was 16.

Dave Young's first motorbike

A while ago completely out of the blue, he had a telephone call from a man who lives only 15 miles away, who asked if he was still buying in old classic bikes; Dave went to see it and bought it. The bike had been garaged for several years; therefore the original registration number had been reclaimed by DVLA. However, whilst reading through all the paperwork, we found the old registration document . . . . . . . and made the amazing discovery that this bike is the original Cub that Dave bought all those years go!

There were only 600 of this particular model ever made and we have an old monochrome photograph of him astride it!

The bike is now being stripped down and lovingly restored to its former glory . . . . by the former proud owner!

    I love this story . . . pure nostalgia!
Just wish I could be reunited with my first motorbike!
Not going to happen as I crashed it and nearly ended my life on in the process ! ! 🙁
